Blueberry Picking at Moorhead's Blueberry Farm

In an effort to foster a connection to our food with Sadie, two years ago we went and picked blueberries together as a family and had the best time. The picking season is very quick so we sadly missed it last year but this year we were back as a family of four to get as many berries as we could before the Texas heat and humidity knocked us out.

We have a great Blueberry Farm near us called Moorhead's Blueberry Farm. They don't use any spray pesticides so you can pick berries off the bushes and try them to make sure that they are ripe. It's free to get in, you just pay for what you pick.

When we were kids living in Indiana we used to pick corn fresh from the fields for dinner with cousins and neighbors. Picking the blueberries reminded me of those times. We are hoping to find other places to participate in the farm to table experience.

There are bathrooms on site and refreshments for purchase. Not to be missed refreshment wise, are the snow cones. Tiger's Blood always gets my vote!
